ARTICLE I

Name and Purpose

1. Name.  The name of the organization shall be TrailHeads, Incorporated.  It shall be a nonprofit organization incorporated under the laws of North Carolina.
2. Purpose.  TrailHeads, Incorporated is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, civic, community welfare, educational, and scientific purposes. The purposes of this corporation are to: promote the joy of trail running; support the efforts of members to maintain an active and healthy life style; listen, learn and internalize the lessons taught by our natural environment and wilder spaces; and organize and encourage efforts to enhance, extend, and maintain Nature’s reach into the lives of each member of our greater community.

501 c3

TrailHeads incorporated as a 501 c3 charity organization in order to encourage others to learn about running area trails. We host two races a year: Little River 10 miler and 7K at Little River Regional Park each January, and the Philosopher’s Way 7K and 15K races in May. Combined donations for these events are at or beyond $127,000.00.
