Thanks to everyone who filled out our online survey. We value your suggestions and validate your criticisms.
Basically, the race scored very highly in these areas:
- Overall Value
- Organization
- Repeats for 2007
Squonk: "Goofus, do you know what you're doing...?"
Goofus: "What? Where am I."
We need to improve, bascially, in the following areas:
- Clarity on pre-race meeting and course directions.
- Course marking - mileage
- Sports drink
- CUPS! Yes we hear you loud and clear! It turns out that the majority of the cups were used before the race even began - folks enjoying Open Eye Coffee.
- T-Shirts - yes, we had a plan to do them ourselves, but when XTERRA graciously stepped forward to provide them free of charge, we jumped at the opportunity. Of course, there were no smalls, and that created certain issues. I like one runner's suggestions to do socks, or hats, or underwear.
Jamie Whitmore: "Squonk, that megphone seems to be frozen to your face."
Squonk: "Ywah, edt, vhurts..laquholl..."
Did we meet our goals - to provide trail maintenace funding for Little River Park and increase awareness of this wonderful natural resource.
Yes, it appears we did - over 90% of you had never heard of the park prior to hearing about the race.
...and some of you are even interested in doing more XTERRA events, like some gnarly off-roadk XTERRA triathlon fun!
Thanks for your comments and for making this race a fun first time event for the TrailHeads. We're more of a disorganization than an org, so, putting anything like this together was truly a stretch....
Ordinary Talent - Extraordinary Imagination!
We'll see you "out there."
Yet to come....disclosure on the financial contribution to Little River Regional Park and Natural Area.
