The 2026 in-person 10-mile and 7k races will take place
Sunday, April 26, 2026
with a ‘self-timed/run at your convenience’ option available

We are excited to present the 18th running of the Philosopher’s Way Trail Runs at Carolina North Forest in Chapel Hill, NC!

If you prefer to run or walk the course on your own, the courses will be open Sunday, April 26th through Sunday, May 3th. For those not running the in-person event, the courses will be marked, and we invite registrants to run or walk anytime during park hours (8:00 am to 6:00 pm). In the event of single-track closures, there will be courses marked on the Forest’s gravel roads.

Book Club at Brumley

Book Club at Brumley

We’ll launch November’s book club meetings Thursday, 10/19 at Brumley at 5:45.

As some of us recently discussed at coffee, this meeting is intended to line up our reading list for November and December.  If you’d like to join, you need to bring a title to nominate to the group.

For instance, the title I’d like to bring forward is Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. I recommend comparing the original text to the screenplays of Blade Runner and  Blade Runner 2049. I can imagine the discussion would widen to consider the implications a recursive replicant society.

So line up your ideas, pump up your tires and join us for Thursday Book Club at Brumley. All ages, and ability levels welcome!
